Chapter Six

Revelation 6:9-17

 

9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:

10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were , should be fulfilled.

12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;

13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.

14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;

16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:

17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

 

 

White Horse

 

Revelation chapter six opens with a white horse rider as we talked about Sunday night.  This white horse rider is the anti-christ, not the Christ. 

 

We do not have peace in the Middle East.  We have been fighting over there for the last four thousand years.  We are having many problems all around the world where people are shooting, people are starving to death, and we are killing one another.  I think that our world is ripe for a political leader to come along and say, “Hey, I can do this.  I can fix all your problems if you will just give me the authority, if you will give me the crown, if you will give me authority of your military, and if you will do this then I have all the answers to all the problems.” 

 

There is not a politician in the last fifty years that has not promised that if he is elected president or whatever office, that he is going to bring peace.  That promise is one of the things that every politician, in your lifetime and in my lifetime, has promised.  “If you will just vote for me and I get to the white house then I am going to bring peace.  I am going to bring peace.  We are going to bring all the boys home and there is not going to be anymore fighting." 

 

Nevertheless, that has never happened.  Ever since we have had a president, we have been fighting somewhere.  We have had men and women somewhere all across the world.  Not only here, but also every leader in the known world today always promises that he is going to bring peace. 

 

People cannot bring peace.  One individual, one man, one human, one mortal cannot bring peace.  It is impossible.  It is not going to happen.  We are living in a time when people want somebody to step forward and just say, “I have got the answers to your problem if you will just do this and this, then everything else is going to be alright.”  That is what the anti-christ is going to do. 

 

Why is that going to happen?  If you look at the chart I handed out, the church has left here in chapter four.  In the first part of chapter six, the anti-christ comes on the scene.  If you go back to the book of Thessalonians, the Bible says:

 

2Thessalonians 2:7
For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth [will let], until he be taken out of the way.

 

You and I are the restraining force upon this earth that restrains evil.  The Bible says that we are the salt of the earth.  Salt, it holds down corruption. 

 

Years ago, when we used to kill meat all the time, we would hang it out in the building.  We would cover it up with salt.  It did not spoil.  The salt kept down corruption.

 

You and I are the “born again.”  We have the Spirit of God on the inside of us and we hold down corruption, but that is going to be gone.  When we leave here then the enemy will be free to start his program.  That is what happens in chapter six.  The church is in heaven.  Now the plan that God has already ordained and instituted is going to come to pass.  He gives the anti-christ authority and says now it is time for his campaign. 

 

In Matthew 24:5, it speaks about the same thing.  Jesus taught about the rider on the white horse, and all that is going to happen. 

 

Red Horse

 

When the second seal is opened, we see that it is about war. 

 

The first part of tribulation is going to be a time of peace.  Prosperity, jobs is going to be everywhere.  Things are going to be going great.  People are going to be saying, “This is the guy that we have been looking for all of our life.  He has solved unemployment.  He solved all the world's problems.  We have peace world wide now.”  It seems as though everything is good, but what people do not understand is that it will be short lived. 

 

The guy that is coming is going to be coming from Europe.  He is going to be uniting Europe.  However, when he comes, he is going to be totally and completely energized by satan and he is going to have one thing on his mind; to get everybody to fall down and to worship him.  That has been his goal all along.  That is the reason he was cast out of heaven.  satan wanted men to worship him. 

 

When he comes on the scene, his goal is to get everybody to come worship him and he starts his plan.

 

When second seal is opened we see a red horse.  We know that red is associated with terror.  It is associated with blood.  If you will read in Revelation 12:3, you will read about the red dragon.  If you will go on over to Revelation 17:3 you can read about the red beast.  Red associates with terror and with war; a war as we have never seen or known before.  It is going to happen.

 

Black Horse

 

In verses 5 & 6, we talked about the third seal being famine, the black horse.  When the black horse comes on the scene, I think that our economic system, as we know it, will have already collapsed.  I really think that is what is going to bring this about; not only the war, but also the famine that is going to be here will be because our economic system, as we know it today, is going to collapse. 

 

If things that I read are true, stories that I read by different people, who have been elevated in our government for several years, state that they have had new money printed for several years and it is not green.  It is red.  The money that is going to be operating will be red.  I do not know that, but I have read that. 

 

I do know that there is going to be a terrible famine.  I know that there is going to come a time when men are going to cast their gold and their silver into the air to the moths and to the bats.  It says that. 

 

Dow is now at 12,000 or so; that is in record territory.  It has never been that high before.  Things are going to change very soon.  It is not going to continue like this.  There is going to be an economic collapse.

 

The riders here, it mentions the black horse, red horse, and pale horse, but the anti-christ is the one bringing all these things about.  In other words, when he comes on the scene then when these other horses come on the scene, it is just a by-product of what the anti-christ is doing. 

 

The Bible says that the rider of the black horse had a pair of balances in his hands.  I did not think about this until today.  The anti-christ when he has a pair of balances in his hand means that he has control of all the food.  I thought, many times over the years, that there is just going to be a shortage of food.  However, what he is really saying here is that the anti-christ is going to have control of the food. 

 

As we read on over a few chapters, we know that the anti-christ is going to demand that everyone worship him and that everyone who is going to worship him will have his number.  Either it will be on their heads or in their hands, in order to buy, to sell, or to be able to hold a job; they will have his number in their hand. 

 

Do you know what you can do now?  You can go to the Wal-Mart and scan your credit card or bankcard and they can know everything about you.  They know where you live.  They know what your telephone number is.  They know what your social security number is.  What does that matter? 

 

When the anti-christ comes on the scene, he will have all the information about us that he needs.  In addition, if we do not have his mark, we are not going to be able to scan our hand and buy anything; including gas, food, or clothes.  Not only that, but also if those that are living here do not take his mark, they will be killed quickly when the fifth seal is opened here.  There will be many more of them killed. 

 

Remember, not only is he going to bring war, but there is going to be a famine and an economic collapse.  he is going to be controlling the food.  If you do not worship him, you do not eat.  If you do not worship him, you do not hold a job.  It is going to be a horrible time.  I am glad that I am not going to be here.  I am glad that I am going to be in heaven then.

 

Pale Horse

 

The fourth seal talks about the pale horse.  The pale horse is leprous or greenish in color.  It is going to be an awful time.  There is going to be killings.  There is going to be wars.  There are going to be people dying on a great scale.  As we talked about before, he is going to be killing with sword or with war.  He is going to be killing with hunger and with famine.  He is going to be killing with death or pestilences. 

 

I thought about this today too.  We do not think too much about this.  In the last few days or weeks, we have had some contaminated pet food.  Do you remember reading how many pets have died?  Now there is a scare that some of our food may have the same kind of stuff in it.  We do not think too much about that. 

 

We do not think too much about some of the chemical or biological things that the enemy is gong to be able to use on the people that are going to be on planet earth at that time.  Some things here will blow your mind to see some of the germ warfare that is available today.  It absolutely will just astonish you, if you do a little bit of studying. 

 

Not only that, but also the beasts; the dogs and all the beasts out here running wild are going to be hungry and they will be killing people, as well, because they are going to be starving to death.  They are going to be hunting people and killing people just like other men are going to be killing people. 

 

Souls Slain

 

We get to the fifth seal and we see:

 

9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:

10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were , should be fulfilled.

 

When the fifth seal is opened, John sees under the altar. There is an altar in heaven that we know now and here are the souls of those that have died, or were martyred.  They are those that died because of their testimony.  Their prayer was; how long do we have to wait until you take vengeance upon all those that wronged us wrong and those that have killed us.  He says just wait a little longer because some of your brethern are also going to have to die the same way you did. 

 

Earthquake

 

The sixth seal opens:

 

12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;

 

Have you ever felt the earthquake? 

 

The Bible says that there is a great earthquake.  He says that the sun became black and the moon became as blood.  Do you know why?   It is because of all the dust and debris that going to be in the air.   Do you remember when Mt. St. Helen erupted?  For hundreds of miles and at noonday, it was black because of all the dust and all the debris in the air.  That is going to happen again. 

 

The Bible says:

 

13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.

14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

 

Did you get that?  I am glad that I am not going to be here.

 

The Bible says that the “stars of heaven fell unto the earth as fig cast her untimely figs when she is shaken in the wind.”  

 

Do you know what Russia has today and has had for many years?  They have a satellite system that is on an orbiter that orbits out in space.  On this orbiter, they have nuclear missiles.  On these missiles, they have different ones and from what I have read, they can actually shoot missiles simultaneously from a platform that they have out here and they can hit at least ten different cities at the same time. 

 

If you watched the news yesterday, you would see that the United States met with Russia.  They want to put a missile defense system in Poland.  They are going to put a missile system out there to protect Europe.  Do you know why?  They know that this is going to happen. 

 

13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.

 

There is no doubt in my mind that what John is seeing here are some nuclear missiles entering through the atmosphere.  I do not know anything that can cause the destruction that is going to take place here on planet earth except a nuclear explosion.  I have read that the missiles that Russia has on this orbiter, they have had for several years.  They can carry a lot of nuclear power.  They have some missiles that are intercontinental missiles.  The missiles that they have on site in Russia can carry a hundred megatons of nuclear power. 

 

What is a megaton?  One megaton is a million tons of TNT.  In other words, a one-megaton thermonuclear bomb is equivalent to one million tons of TNT.  Russia has at least six hundred sixteen of these missiles that can carry a hundred megatons of explosives.  They say that in WWII, if you take all of the explosives used by all the nations that were in WWII, they used about 25 megatons or less of explosives from all sources.

 

You can see how much power that some of these missiles have.  What we fail to understand sometimes is that these things are already in place, these things are already there, and have been for many years.  There is no doubt in my mind that this is what John sees. 

 

It says that he sees the stars fall from heaven.  We all have seen stars fall from heaven and it glows or burns.  If you would see a missile, coming from the outer space down, it glows and it burns.  It is going to look just like a falling star.  John says that he sees this:

 

14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together...

 

Do you know what happens when a nuclear explosion takes place?  I did not' know this until some time ago.  I thought the actual explosion part of it did most of the damage.  However, that is not true.  Do you know what does most of the damage?  When a nuclear explosion takes place, and you have seen it on TV before, it comes up in the mushroom cloud and it rolls out.  It creates a vacuum where the atmosphere just rolls back on itself and it leaves a big void.  The destruction that occurs happens when it leaves a big void and the air rushes back in to where the void has been.  That is what causes all the destruction. 

 

John said that he saw the heavens depart as a scroll.  It rolls together; bombs explode, it rolls together.  It departs as a scroll and every mountain, he did not say a few mountains, he did not say one mountain, but he said every mountain and every island moved out of their places.  Do you think that is going to be an explosion?  The force of that explosion is nothing like this world ever saw before.  Devastation like this, we never saw before.

 

Rocks to fall upon them

 

15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;

16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:

 

You would think that they would be seeing all these things happen and they would be praying to the God of heaven, but they are not doing that.  They are praying to the mountains and to the rocks to fall on them.  "...and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:" 

 

They are going to know beyond any doubt that what is taking place is coming from the throne of God in heaven.  They are going to know that.  It says here, "every king"  the kings of the earth; he says here and "…every great man, every rich man, the captains, and the mighty men, every bondman, and every free man…" everyone is going to know that there is a God in heaven that is controlling the events that are taking place and they are not going to repent.  They are calling for the rocks to fall upon them.  They will not even repent.  They know that God is doing it.  That is unbelief, that is total rejection of Almighty God. 

 

17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

 

I will tell you who is going to be able to stand.  Those that have not received the mark of the beast, those are going to be able to stand. 

 

If those that are living have accepted his mark then it is going to be a sad day for you.  People are going to suffer as they have never suffered before.  The church is not going to be here.  There is going to be calamity like we never saw before.
